Yesterday is Ashley Roberts' first official single as a solo artist. The single got released on November 11th 2012 by Cherry Red Records. It was the same day that she joined I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here. Yesterday was produced by LA based producer Beau Dozier, who also co-wrote the song with Ashley.

The song is about whether you're in a relationship or you have a hard time in your career, you feel like you're stuck. You want to move forward but you can't quite. So it's about being stuck yesterday and wanting to move forward but having a hard time doing that. Yesterday can definitely be considered a pop ballad, with meaningful lyrics and beautiful vocals.
